“Dokyala Shot” movie review: Total Paisa Vasool Dhamaal Johnny Vaz, February 28, 2019September 26, 2019 Dokyala Shot is based on a true incident of four best friends, who decide to play cricket one afternoon and unfortunately, Abhijeet hits his head on the stone, while trying to catch the ball hit by Bhajji. Soon after, he suffers a short term memory loss, forgetting some major and recent incidents in his life. He also forgets his fiance Subbu and their upcoming marriage. The film starts with a bang with a hilarious sequence of an inter- caste marriage prospect, where Abhijeet Athalye (Suvrat Joshi), who is a Maharashtrian and Subbhalakshmi Iyengar, who is a South Indian (Prajakta Mali, fondly called Subbu) pleading to Subbu’s father to accept their love. The film later introduces three more faces – Chandu (Omkar Govardhan), Ganya (Ganesh Pandit) and Bhajji (Rohit Haldikar) – who are Abhijeet’s friends and also happen to be the star contributors of the movie. The film is very hilarious from the word go. Not once there is a dull moment in the film. The first half is so fast paced that you don’t realize when the intermission comes. The second half has its own moments and laughs. It keeps you engaged to the climax. Diector Shivkumar Parthasarthy has done a magnificent job and got his shot right. It’s hard to believe that this is his first film as a director. All the actors steal the show completely. Prajakta Mali looks beautiful in the limited time she gets on screen. Technically, the movie is good. Cinematography is simply eye pleasing. The music is also good Overall, Dokyala Shot is a total paisa vasool dhamaal movie. Rating: **** (4 Star) Movie Reviews
