Yami Gautam to romance Ajith in director H Vinoth’s Valimai?

Yami Gautam has acted in a handful of South Indian films at the beginning of her career. Sadly, none of these films earned her recognition in the South. Now, it looks like the actress might head back to Kollywood to play the female lead in a leading Tamil film.

If the grapevine is to go by, Yami Gautam is said to have been roped in to play the female lead in Ajith’s upcoming film Valimai. Earlier, it was reported that Nayanthara was finalised as the heroine. A few weeks ago, producer Boney Kapoor met Nayanthara in New York over dinner and is said to have discussed the film. This impromptu meeting sparked rumours about Nayanthara’s inclusion in the film.

However, the makers remained silent about the rest of the cast and crew. If the rumours are true, then Yami Gautam might make a comeback in Tamil with Valimai. An official confirmation regarding the Uri actress’s role in Valimai is yet to be out.

At a recent award show, producer Boney Kapoor revealed that actor Ajith will be essaying the role of a police officer in the film. According to reports, a huge set has been erected where the makers are shooting some action sequences at the Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad.

Valimai marks the reunion of Ajith, director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor after their superhit venture Nerkonda Paarvai. The film, which is produced by Bayview Projects LLP, has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

In an earlier interview with DNA, Boney Kapoor said, “I got to know him closely during the shoot of our Tamil film Nerkonda Paarvai. I was pleasantly surprised to know about his passion for racing and other sports. It was only natural that our next project together is a thriller that uses his passion for speed. I would love to have him in a Hindi film with an action backdrop.”
