NCB gears up to bust suspected drug ring working in Bollywood

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had registered a case under NDPS act after they got the mobile chat details of Rhea Chakraborty and the teams have geared up to bust the drug ring which is suspected to be working in the Bollywood industry.

NCB sources said that they have got more chats from the mobile phone of Rhea Chakraborty, where the drugs like MDMA, CBD oil, Bud and Doobies are discussed. It is suspected that the demand was made for procurement, said an NCB officer.

The NCB teams have already started picking up persons from various areas of Mumbai to reach out to the source and destinations of these kinds of drugs in Mumbai. The teams are also working in Goa because the network is suspected to have been spread out in both the cities.

Four persons were picked up by NCB sleuths on Friday from Mumbai’s Bandra and two were found to be dealing in “Bud” drugs, which is a kind of marijuana plant, and they may be put under arrest. Sources in the NCB said more raids are being conducted in Mumbai and Goa.

The NCB officials also said that they were trying to reach out to the network of these drugs which are discussed by Rhea and others. It has been suggested that these drugs are accessed in the Bollywood industry and there might be many other celebrities and stars indulging in the consumption of these drugs.

Multiple mobile chats were accessed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) from the mobile phones of Rhea Chakraborty and they were further given to NCB. The NCB on Tuesday register a case under NDPS act and further a team from Delhi landed in Mumbai to launch the investigations.
