‘OMG 2’: CBFC feels content of the Akshay Kumar starrer is ‘slightly controversial’ CineEye, July 25, 2023 A recent report in Bollywood daily stated that ‘OMG 2’ is likely to get clearance from the censor board in the next two days following which the makers will begin with their marketing plan. The report also added that it is less than 20 days to go for release and the team is literally on fire to spread awareness around the film. The latest that they can wait is till coming Monday; after that, there will be very little time to release. Ahead of its release, the makers of ‘OMG 2’ have been eagerly waiting for the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) to clear the film soon. However, CBFC reportedly feels the Akshay Kumar starrer is ‘slightly controversial’. Further the report stated that a 10-day campaign is needed for ‘OMG 2’ from trailer to release and the team is hoping all of it to be settled. Right now, there is reportedly ample panic amongst the team, and Akshay Kumar too is pulling all his contacts to get the film cleared for a theatrical release. Earlier, this month, the film was referred to the reviewing committee as a ‘preemptive measure’. The decision has reportedly been taken to avoid the backlash that unfolded after Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’ was released last month. ‘OMG 2’ also stars Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in lead roles. It is slated to hit the theatres on August 11, 2023. If all goes smoothly, the film will be locking horns with the Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Gadar 2’ at the box office. BREAKING News
