Short film “The Exhaust Fan” by debutant Nisha Malhotra launched by Hungama Play! CineEye, August 9, 2018September 26, 2019 Nishi Malhotra has made her debut short film called “The Exhaust Fan” and it was launched by Hungama Play. Nishi has studied at Delhi from Jesus & Mary College and is a graduate in Psychology Honors. She is a qualified Counsellor from the Institute of Nature Therapy, Delhi Not only has she published two English books – a poetry and a fiction, she has also written many articles for the Health Ministry. Her Journey into creativity started late (even though it was latently present from a very young age) when she got a break for her debut song “Jind Mereya” sung by Ram Shankar and launched by Venus International. Since then Nishi has written around 50 songs and has ventured out to get some of them into harmonious compositions. Her first short film “The Exhaust Fan” is a simply done up film on the life of a Middle class housewife and her day to day struggles. The monotony of routine often gets trying due to lack of basic amenities and how a faulty exhaust fan can give you mood swings. The film is an attempt to touch the simplicity and bonding of the tasks of a housewife and how she balances her own personal feelings along with financials of the family. The song simply touches the heart and sets us to think about life in general and how relationships can sometimes become like closed doors to happiness and yet somehow happiness also lies within these relationships. Nishi is about to complete her second short film called “Grandpa turns model” with Manoj Bakshi as the Grandpa and Ankur Malhotra as the grandson. The film is expected to be launched next month.
