Sanjay Dutts life story is incomplete without this special place…… Click to know more! CineEye, July 17, 2018September 26, 2019 Have you heard of India’s only Sita-Mata temple? It is said that Sunil Dutt used to visit this place often, and took Sanjay Dutt along with him after he was released from prison. The temple is situated at Ashok Nagar in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is the famous Karila Mata Mandir, which is known to be the birthplace of Luv and Kush, the sons of Lord Rama and Sita Mata. A huge fair (every year over 10 lakh devotees attend the occasion) is organized every year on Rangpanchmi, in which Rai Dance is performed by Bedni Women. Devotees come to celebrate at the temple when their wish gets fulfilled. The celebration begins with the dance of ‘Bedniyaans’ (local traditional dancers), who are continuing the tradition of the famous ancient saint Valmiki. More than hundred Bedni women danced when Sunil Dutt and Sanjay Dutt visited. Such a celebration can be witnessed in the upcoming film “Delhi 47 Km”. Known for its unique qualities, the director of the film felt that it would be an interesting place to explore. During the shoot, the director Shadab Khan told the actors and the crew that he will shoot the sequence in gorilla style. The unit agreed and the shots were taken through hidden cameras. The actors – Lala, Lallan and Jigar performed so well that the people celebrating there felt as if they were drunk and could possibly get naughty with the female dancers, so the locals started fighting with them. Ultimately the unit and director had to intervene and told them about the shooting of the film. The locals thereafter, supported and the shooting could be completed. The style of dance, the performances, the singing, and the reactions of the locals can all be seen in the song “Machli Si Tadap Rahi” from upcoming film ‘Delhi 47 Km’.
